DEVIANTE! An S4RS built into a dirt bike by Terra Mostro
Terra Mostro builds bikes like these with 695 Monsters. this guy wanted a bit more power so he had them build this thing. I imagine he succeeded!
Stock specs on and SR4S:
Horsepower: 117.0 @ 9750 rpm
Torque: 68.2 lb.-ft. @ 7500 rpm
Corrected 1/4-mile: 10.71 sec. @ 126.57 mph 0-60 mph 3.12 sec.
Top-gear roll-on: 3.32 sec.
Only one in existence and it's for sale over on Adventure Rider for just shy of $20K. And probably worth it!

Reder Submittal. A sweet Husqvarna 400 Cross. One more from Ted Guthrie.
Ted Writes:
There were lotsa cool, old Huskys in their display tent, but this old mx'er is the one which really did it for me. A perfect, recent resto? Maybe, but check out those tires. They're OLD, man. This bike wears its age proudly.
Thanks Ted!

Not all Yamaha XT500's are destined to become flat track racers or street trackers.
I race this bike with the local vintage MX club here in North Texas. http://www.tvrc.org

Reader Ride. 1972 Hodaka Prototype Wombat 125
Randy Martin sends in some pics of this very cool Hodaka Restoration.
He Writes:
A good friend of mine ( Boyd Thomure ) introduced me to your website and I think it is great. I have already spent too much time on it and want to see more.
I have spent the last year restoring a 1972 Hodaka Wombat as a replica of the original Prototype Red Wombat. When Hodaka built the Wombat and had it ready for a show they only had Red Paint in stock at the time, so the first bike was done in "Hodaka Red" Paint. All other Wombats after that were finished in Black.
When I was 14 years old my very first bike in 1973 was a Hodaka so this has lots of memories for me and my parents.
Excellent! Thanks!

Cool Advertising Video for Husaberg.
I really don't know much about their bikes but this really well produced 2011 model line video has my interest. Think I'll hit the trails this weekend.

Reader Ride. Nice XT500.
My buddy Butch sent me some pics of his stable including this nice thumper. I'd love to find one in this shape to park next to my DR650.

Reader submittal. Husqvarna Desert Racer!
Bob Close from the Penton Owners Group sent me a link recently to a site I'd never heard of called huskyrestoration.com and some pics of this amazing Husqvarna Baha Racer. Please do yourself a favor and click the link over to this fantastic site and check see all the pictures and read the story of this bike. This isn't a trailer queen. It's going to be raced in the 2010 Baha 500. And while you're over there please check out all their restoration projects. Really really amazing stuff. If you're a fan of these old dirtbikes (or just curious) you should defilnately pay a visit to the Gents over on the Penton Owners Group. I sneak over there and peek in on them every once in a while and I'm definately getting the bug.
Thanks again for the link Bob. Much appreciated.

Fantastic Penton / KTM "Oldie" Jack Pine Special Supermoto.
Double post from the two-stroke page.
I get some good traffic over here from the PentonUSA.org folks so every now and then I like to go over and see what they're up to. Great bunch of folks and if you're even remotely interested in old Penton or KTM motorcycles (or any old dirtbike from that era) then go pay em a vist. Great Stuff!
Anyway while I was snooping around over there I stumbled across this beauty. I love this sort of treatment. I was very tempted to buy a similarly built bike a while back that was based on an XT500. It's one of the styles of bikes that really shine when "modernized". Power should NOT be a problem and I imagine she handles brilliantly.
Mr JC Hubbard had the breakdown in his post as follows:
'77 Penton 175 Engine with Lectron Carb
'77 Penton MC5 Frame & Tank
'80 KTM 175 Swingarm
'89 KTM GS 125 Forks, Wheels, Brakes
'78 KTM Torque Pipe
Trail Tech Cannondale Odo/Speedo
Magura Hymec Hydraulic Clutch
Magura 167 Front Brake Master
Kenda Tires
"Not mine, but a Very Unique project that I've helped my neighbor with. BTW,,,It's STREET LEGAL and is rode almost everyday, in nice weather!!"
Saw this on ktmtalk.com...In the "Oldie" Section Can't believe it -- but it's real...
Thanks Gents!
